Tickets and RSVP
Tickets are not required for the UW Oshkosh Commencement Ceremonies. There is no limit to the number of guests that may attend ceremony.
Graduating students do not need to RSVP for commencement. By checking the official list, students verify that they are pre-registered to participate.
Graduating students should arrive to Kolf Sports Center 45 minutes prior to the ceremony to register and receive their name cards and honors cords. Maps of registration areas (by college) will be posted on the doors and in the entry ways.
Students who choose not to attend commencement will not pick up their registration card on Saturday and their names will not be read during the ceremony.
Day of Ceremony Details
9 a.m. Ceremony
All undergraduate and graduate students please arrive at 8:15 a.m. and report to the appropriate registration area in the lower level of Kolf Sports Center (maps and directions will also also be posted at the entrances to Kolf):
- College of Letters and Science (Meet in Gyms A/B)
- Division of Lifelong Learning and Community Engagement (Meet in Kolf 164)
- Graduate Studies (Graduate students from all colleges meet in room 161)
2 p.m. Ceremony
All undergraduate and graduate students please arrive at 1:15 p.m. and report to the appropriate registration area in the lower level of Kolf Sports Center (maps and directions will also also be posted at the entrances to Kolf):
College of Business (Meet in Gym A)
College of Education & Human Services (Meet in Gym B)
College of Nursing (Meet in room 164)
Graduate Studies (Graduate students from all colleges meet in room 161)
Doctor of Nursing Practice Program (Meet in the Hall of Fame)
When you arrive to Kolf:
1). Please leave your personal items (including coats and purses) with your family and friends. Family and friends should then go to the upper level of Kolf.
2). Bring your academic attire with you to your college's (CNL, COB, COEHS, COLS, CON and Graduate Studies) registration area in the lower level of Kolf.
3). Check in and receive your name card. Students may make phonetic markings on their cards (for our announcers). If you are receiving University Honors (cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude) or College Honors you will receive your FREE honor cord while registering.
4). If you are a graduate student, a brief meeting will take place thirty minutes prior to the ceremony. This meeting will prepare you with the details regarding how you will be hooded on stage. If you are a master's degree candidate, this briefing will take place in Kolf 161. If you are a doctoral candidate, this briefing will take place in the Hall of Fame.
5). Line up with a partner (you may choose a partner, within your college, to walk with in the processional and sit with during the ceremony). If you do not have a partner, our ushers will help you find a partner to walk alongside during the processional.
6). Follow the commencement staff that will lead you into the upper gym at the appropriate time where a formal processional will take place. You will be ushered to your appropriate seat.
7). Our staff will guide you to the stage at the appropriate time to receive your degree. A photo will be taken of you as you enter the stage, as you receive the diploma cover and after you receive the diploma cover.
8). Please plan to meet your guests in the lower level of Kolf after the ceremony.
