2012 Midyear Commencement Faculty Speaker
Dr. Emmanuel Jean Francois is a native of Haiti, and currently lives in Oshkosh, Wisconsin with his wife Pierrette, his two daughters Emmarald and Maellie-Jade, and his son Pierremael.

Prior to coming to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Dr. Francois taught as an adjunct professor for three years at Springfield College, served as Campus Coordinator for an international program in Youth Leadership at the University of South Florida (in collaboration with Georgetown University), and Research Coordinator at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute.
His educational journey began at the State University of Haiti where Dr. Francois studied Anthropology and Sociology. Since then he has received a Master’s in Human Services from Springfield College and a Ph.D. in curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida.
Dr. Francois has presented in various regional, national, and international conferences about his research on non-traditional college students, adult and higher education, study abroad, global education, globalization, transformative learning, scholarship of teaching and learning, and community based participatory research.
