Student Employment Opportunities

  • Registration Workers greet graduates, distribute name cards and honor cords (2 hour shift).

  • Ushers help seat guests with special seating needs, including those with disabilities and assist with general questions in the upper level of Kolf (5 hour shift).

  • Marshals line up graduates, lead them upstairs and direct them to the appropriate seats. Throughout the ceremony, marshals assist in directing graduates and guests ( 5 hour shift).

Orientation and Training

A mandatory training session is held on Thursday, December 7. At this time, we'll go over your role in the ceremony, give you a tour of Kolf and answer any questions you might have. Training sessions occur in 30-45 minute sessions running from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. based on student's availability.


Members of the commencement team will be paid $10 an hour for their time and commitment to our office.

Additional Set-Up Hours

In addition, we'll need some students to work additional hours (set-up) two days prior to commencement. During this time we set up the line up rooms, distribute programs and move all of the commencement supplies and materials into place. Please indicate on your application if you would like to work additional hours.

Set Up Hours Include:

  • Thursday: 1-6 p.m.
  • Friday: 1-6 p.m.
