Parking Attendants help guests find parking in various lots.
- Communications Team works with social networking sites to engage graduates and guests. Must have prior professional experience working with social media.
Golf Cart Drivers provide complimentary shuttle service from the outlying parking lots to Kolf Sports Center.
Registration Workers greet graduates, distribute name cards and honor cords.
Ushers help seat guests with special seating needs, including those with disabilities and assist with general questions in the upper level of Kolf.
Marshals line up graduates, lead them upstairs and direct them to the appropriate seats. Throughout the ceremony, marshals assist in directing graduates and guests.
Orientation and Training
A mandatory training session is held on Thursday, December 5th in the lower level of Kolf Sports Center (athletics conference room). At this time, we'll go over your role in the ceremony, give you a tour of Kolf and answer any questions you might have. Training sessions occur in 30-45 minute sessions running from 2pm-6pm based on student's availability.
On commencement day, student workers are needed from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. Shifts range from four to twelve hours. Parking, registration and golf cart positions are split shifts. Ushers and marshals generally work one long shift and also serve as the clean up crew.
Members of the commencement team will be paid $10 an hour for their time and commitment to our office.
Additional Set-Up Hours
In addition, we'll need some students to work additional hours (set-up) two days prior to commencement. During this time we set up the line up rooms, distribute programs and move all of the commencement supplies and materials into place. Please indicate on your application if you would like to work additional hours.
Set Up Hours Include:
- Thursday: 1-6 p.m.
- Friday: 1-6 p.m.
