Martin Prevost wins Student Playwriting Contest
Senior Martin Prevost won the 12th-annual Student Playwriting Contest. The contest is sponsored by the Playwrights Project, the Department of Theatre and the Theatre Arts Board. A public reading of Prevost’s one-act play, “Deeper Meaning,” will take place at 7:30 p.m., May 6 in the Experimental Theatre in the Fredric March Theatre Building, 926 Woodland Ave.
Prevost’s play was chosen from a host of other plays submitted earlier in the spring semester. “Deeper Meaning” is about an English professor who has verbal combat with one of his students concerning the meaning of one of Robert Browning’s poems.
