Late Add

If a student wishes to add a course after the 20 days usually allowed to add a course, the student must appeal to late add the desired course. In order to add a late course, the student needs to fill out and submit an Appeal of Late Add form. The calendar that outlines the last days to add with and without an instructor's signature as well as without a late add request form can be found on the Registrar's Office's Web site.

For 14-weeks, 7-weeks, and 8-weeks courses, students have until the end of the fifth day of classes to add a course without the instructor's signature. For 3-weeks and 4-weeks courses, students have until the end of the second day of classes.

For 14-weeks courses, students have from the fifth day until the end of the 20th day of classes to add a course with the instructor's signature. For 7-weeks and 8-weeks courses, students have until the end of the tenth day of classes to add the course with the instructor's signature. For 3-weeks and 4-weeks courses, students have until the end of the fifth day of classes to add the course with the instructor's signature.  

Once the deadline has passed to add courses with an instructor's approval, students must submit an Appeal to Late Add form

 

Steps to Take to Late Add a Course

1. Go to Registrar's Office, Dempsey 130.

2. Pick up Request for Late Add form.

3. Fill out form and be sure to describe the circumstances that led to the need to late add the course (see what qualifies as extenuating circumstances below).

4. Obtain the instructor's signature on the form.

5. Submit the completed form to Jane Wypiszynski, Student Academic Affairs Officer in the Student Success Center, Room 212.

6. Have instructor include the final grade on the form, if the class is being added after the end of the semester.
