The UW Oshkosh Department of Music invites students from around the state entering grades 5 through 12 in fall 2009 to this exciting music experience. [Younger students can be accepted by consent of private teacher and parent(s).] This highly successful one-day festival has string orchestra rehearsal, sight reading, and performance as its focus but also includes sectional rehearsals. A final informal performance at 4:00 p.m. in the Music Hall will complete the day.
Dress code for the day is casual - elegant. We do not make a practice of sending out parts but may do so upon request. As an option for lunch (not a requirement) the students can bring $6, and pizza will be provided, or they will be able to eat at an area restaurant.
Deadline for registration is Friday, November 6, 2009.
