Professors at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh do more than stand behind podiums talking about scientific principles. Eric Hiatt and Jennifer Wenner, geology professors at UW Oshkosh, presented their research at the Geological Society of America’s (GSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition from Oct. 31 through Nov. 3 in Denver, where almost 6,000 scientists were expected to attend.
As part of a class project, two groups of journalism students at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh were given a real-life client — The Grand Opera House. Their task? Figure out how to attract college students to the restored Victorian theater, which has been an arts and entertainment hub in downtown Oshkosh since the late 19th century.
Radio-TV-film alumni will return to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh to talk to current students about careers in their field in conjunction with Homecoming 2010.
