Seen on campus: No standing around allowed
J.D. Hughes, a national physical education consultant, demonstrates why no one is allowed to stand still in his gym during a Feb. 18 workshop in Albee Hall.
The Wisconsin Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance hosted the workshop for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh staff and students as well as physical education teachers from the greater Oshkosh area. Hughes, author of “No Standing Around in My Gym: Creative Lesson Plans, Games and Teaching for Elementary Physical Education,” focused on getting maximum student participation in physical activities through all-inclusive activities that build self-confidence and promote cooperation, fair play and responsible participation.
