For eight years, I taught English and German to high school students in predominantly low-income, diverse urban high schools in the Midwest and Southwest. When I returned to graduate school at UW Madison, I focused on multicultural education, literacy, and teacher education. Graduate experiences include teaching multicultural education, literature for children, literature across the curriculum, reading methods, and supervising student teachers in a professional development school.

Currently, I teach literature for children and secondary English language arts methods, as well as supervising clinicians and student teachers. My scholarship involves equity literacy, service-learning, and anti-bias/anti-racist pedagogy.
