MSE: Teaching and Learning Graduate Program

With the convenience of evening, summer and distance education courses, the Teaching and Learning graduate program provides licensed PK-12 teachers with the opportunity to further develop their expertise in teaching. 

Areas of Emphasis

Reflective Practitioner Electronic Portfolio 

MSE students will complete a Reflective Practitioner Electronic Portfolio to self-assess their level of confidence with the WI State Teaching Standard and the College of Education and Human Services (COEHS) conceptual model and set goals to focus on as they progress through the program. Students complete entires for an electronic portfolio at three points during the MSE program:

  • Entry Self-Assessment 
  • Candidacy Self-Assessment takes place at the candidacy meeting with the graduate program coordinator. 
  • Exit Self-Assessment completed as part of the Elem/Sec 791 seminar
