(Completed license application and necessary fee must be forwarded for endorsement to the Department of Reading Education, UW Oshkosh, 800 Algoma Bvd., Oshkosh, WI 54901)
Minimum Unit (Cr.) Requirements: 19 crs.
To be recommended for this license (K-12), the student must be admitted in a graduate program and complete, as a minimum, 19 units (crs.) as follows:

Students are required to take the following courses (if older than seven years upon entry into the program) for DPI licensure:

Children and Youth with Disabilities in General Education (Spec Ed 552)

Child or Adolescent Literature (Ed Ldrshp 502 or 503)
At least 9 of the required units (crs.) for 316 licensure, including Reading 720, must be taken at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
A minimum of two years of teaching experience is required by the Department of Public Instruction for 316 licensure.
The Reading Education faculty meet and must positively recommend the candidate for 316 licensure.
