On-Campus Orientation

On-Campus Orientation

If invited into the Professional Counseling Program, you will be asked to attend an on-campus orientation in early May. The orientation is designed for you to become acclimated to the program before beginning summer courses. The orientation will begin with introductions and following that, faculty will go over a number of different topics including: course curriculum, practicum and internship information, student assessments, registration, and advising. The National Honor Society for Counseling, Chi Sigma Iota will also give a brief overview of the club. Attendance at the orientation is required as you will not only learn valuable information about the program, but there is also some paperwork you will need to fill out. In the event you cannot attend the orientation you will need to contact the department to see what arrangements can be made to make it up. The orientation will end with an optional campus tour including services available in Reeve, Parking Services, Polk Library, Wellness Center, Health Center, services in Dempsey, and Student Success Center.
