Dual Education

Middle Childhood through Early Adolescence Regular and Special Education

Age 6–Approx. 12-13

The Dual Education MC-EA Program prepares students to teach in both regular and special education classrooms, at the elementary and middle school levels.

Graduates of UW Oshkosh’s teacher education programs have a strong liberal arts background, a thorough grounding in their content area and a comprehensive understanding of the art and science of teaching.

The regular education component provides students with an overall teaching knowledge at the elementary school (grades 1-6) level and in the core content areas of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies in middle schools (grades 6-8).

The cross-categorical special education component prepares students to serve children with cognitive, emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities in elementary and middle schools.

Completion of this program results in a Bachelor of Science in Education degree.
