AAUW Scholarship

From Helen Bannan, AAUW Oshkosh Branch Scholarship Chair:

As scholarship chair of the Oshkosh branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), I am pleased to announce that we are continuing to offer a one-year, $800 non-renewable scholarship to a woman enrolled full-time in one of the graduate programs at UW Oshkosh. As many of you know, this scholarship has been awarded annually since 1966, and over the years, students from all of the UW Oshkosh colleges offering graduate degrees have been so honored.

The criteria and application form for the scholarship for the 2009-10 academic year can be found on the Graduate Studies website.

The application deadline is January 30, 2009.  Applications may be sent to me via e-mail (bannan@uwosh.edu) or via mail at my home address. Though I have retired, I am on campus most days, doing research in the Archives in Polk Library. Hand delivering applications on campus is a possibility that can be arranged ahead of time via phone, (920) 231-2948, or e-mail.

After our committee reviews the applications, we will select a small group of finalists for on-campus interviews in early February. The scholarship winner will be recognized at the University's annual Honors and Awards Ceremony, and she will receive her check at the beginning of the fall 2009 semester.

We have been consistently impressed over the years with the outstanding quality of the applicants for this scholarship, reflecting the quality of their graduate programs. Our previous winners are alumnae of whom both UW Oshkosh and AAUW are justifiably proud.

Sincerely,
Helen Bannan
