Courtney Bauder, M.A.

In 1996 I entered the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh as a student.  In 2001 I obtained an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education with an emphasis in working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders. Soon after completing my undergraduate degree I started my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership taking classes in International and Comparative Education and Multicultural Education.  During this time I taught English in China and worked in Japan for two summers. I also helped to lead study abroad trips to Greece and also substitute taught in in the Oshkosh Area School District. In 2004 I was hired as an ad hoc instructor to teach Multicultural Education and Teaching as a Professional: Legal and Ethical Aspects of Education and began administrating the Global Educator Graduate Certificate Program. I have also taught classes within this program.  Last year I taught a course entitled Value Development in Human Services for the Human Services Professional Leadership Department.  I currently teach Multicultural Education and lead students on study abroad trips to both Greece and Australia.  Within the next year I will be completing a doctoral degree in Urban Education at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee with an emphasis in Social Foundations of Education.  My research interests are issues related to Multicultural Education, Global Education, and Disproportionality of Students of Color in Special Education.
