According to new Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) guidelines, all students who completed their program and/or are applying for their teacher licensure AFTER August 31, 2004, will have to demonstrate that they have taken appropriate Praxis II Content Knowledge Exam. Students must provide evidence that they have passed the appropriate exams before they will be approved for student teaching.
The Praxis II Content Knowledge test measures subject matter knowledge. It is not an exam about how to teach. It is an exam that assesses your knowledge about what you teach. Depending on your major/minor, you may need to take more than one test. Only students who have been admitted into the College of Education and Human Services are eligible to take the Praxis II.
Who must take the Praxis II Subject Assessments?

- Students completing licensing programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
