Special Education
UW Oshkosh’s Special Education department prepares undergraduate and graduate students to become special educational leaders who possess the knowledge, skills and dispositions to empower others and command respect for themselves and their profession. The department teaches students to practice in a manner consistent with the Council for Exceptional Children's Code of Ethics and Standards for Professional Practice.
Students in the Special Education program will experience an intensive practicum, as well as instruction that translates theory into research-based best educational practices. Cross-categorical and early childhood special education programs serve children with cognitive, emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities across the age span from birth to 21 and across various levels of disability.
