Title II Report
During the 2007-2008 academic year, the College of Education
and Human Services at UW Oshkosh had 1267 students officially enrolled in
major, minor and/or certification programs. During that year, 350 students successfully completed their student
teaching. Thirty-six student teachers
were placed out of area — nine students taught in the Milwaukee Public School
District and seven students taught at international sites.
Each student teacher
is observed 3-4 times in each nine-week placement (6-8 times total). The average number of hours per week required
of student participation in supervised student teaching is 40, the total number
of weeks of supervised student teaching is 18. The total number of hours required is 720.
The student faculty ratio in student teaching
in 2007-2008 was 9.45. UW Oshkosh
faculty and staff earn the equivalent of .66 load credits for every 18 week
student teaching placement.
