Curriculum and Instruction
The Curriculum and Instruction department at UW Oshkosh prepares undergraduate and graduate students to become skillful practitioners, reflective professionals and change agents in their schools and communities. Preservice and inservice teachers become knowledgeable in culture, subject matter, learning theories and diversity, as well as skillful in creating curriculum and using different pedagogical strategies to foster learning among all students.
The department’s undergraduate programs prepare students for licensure in a variety of age ranges, from early childhood through adolescence (PK-12). Students can specialize in a variety of language and learning ability areas with an English as a Second Language major, Bilingual Hmong and Bilingual Spanish minors, and Dual Regular / Special Education Licensure Programs. Teachers with regular Wisconsin teaching licenses can enhance their professional knowledge and skills with the University’s master's program in Curriculum and Instruction.
