Service Region Policy
The COEHS field experience service region is defined by a large C-shaped area around Lake Winnebago, which includes 33 school districts and more than 190 schools. Students within the Professional Education Program at UW Oshkosh will be assigned to field placements within this region.
Out of Area Service Region Policy
Out-of-Area Requests
All COEHS program students requesting supervision outside of our designated service region will be required to pay an out-of-area fee. This fee is assessed to offset the supervision and travel budget for the Office of Field Experiences.
A special application is required to request this type of field placement. These applications are available online and in N/E 113 in the information racks.
If the request is granted by the respective department(s), the fee will be $750 for undergraduate and graduate students. For graduate students who are on-the-job, the amount will be $375.
Special Education — Green Bay School District
An agreement has been established between the special education department at UW Oshkosh and the Green Bay School District to provide student teaching placements for special education students in that district. There will be a $100/placement fee to offset supervision and travel expenses. Dual majors can request only the special education placement in Green Bay.
The check will be due on the day of Student Teaching Orientation (early Jan/Aug). Checks can be made out to “UW Oshkosh” and provided to the Field Experience Office in N/E 113.
