RITE

The Residency In Teacher Education program (RITE) is a partnership between the College of Education and Human Services and CESA 6. RITE is an "on-the-job" teacher preparation program approved through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

While teaching under an emergency permit or license requested by a school district, candidates complete a two-year program of study that includes formal instruction provided by CESA 6. The formal instruction will occur prior to, during, and after the school year. Participants will learn, in part, about best instructional practices, assessing student progress, classroom management, and other instructional strategies. Additionally, during both years in the classroom, mentors from the school districts and from CESA 6 will provide on-the-job support.
