Kaukauna Visit
Mary Weber, District Administrator of the Kaukauna Area School District, was visited on August 2, 2010.
On August 2, 2010, we traveled to visit Mary Weber, District Administrator of the Kaukauna Area School District. Located on the northeast side of Appleton, the district serves approximately 4,100 students from early childhood through grade 12 and employs approximately 500 staff members.
During our visit with Mary, we discussed:

The COEHS/K12 Advisory Council and the math transition project that focused on the math placement yest used by UW Oshkosh to place incoming freshmen into their first college math course.

The Add-on Licensure program from the college’s EXCEL Center and how it can benefit the district and its teachers.

A preparatory course for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards now being offered by the college.

How cooperating teachers must complete a course in supervision of student teachers. The college offers this course in online, hybrid and face-to-face formats.

Kaukauna teacher involvement in the Fox Valley Writing Project.

How new special education teachers are performing in the district.

The student teaching model developed this year between the college and the Appleton Area School District.
