Lois Cuff, District Administrator for the Freedom Area School District, was visited on June 29, 2010.
We went to the Freedom Area School District to meet with Lois Cuff, District Administrator on June 29, 2010. The Freedom district serves 1,620 students from pre-kindergarten through grade twelve and is located between Appleton and Green Bay in east-central Outagamie County.
We talked with Lois about how a district could set up a cohort of teachers interested in earning a master’s degree. As part of this master’s program, the district could help develop courses that would focus on key areas that would help meet their specific needs.
In addition, we discussed:
The results of the Math Placement Review, focusing on tracking students in math and how to avoid it. Freedom High School’s principal will be asked to attend the next COEHS/K-12 Advisory Council Math Subcommittee meeting.
The EXCEL Center’s Add-on Licensure program.
The college’s preparatory course for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Lois said the district may have some teachers interested in taking the course.
The need for all cooperating teachers working with the college’s student teachers to take a course in the supervision of student teachers in accordance with DPI requirements.
