Accelerated Licensure Program for Early Childhood Professionals

Are You ...

  • A graduate from the Wisconsin Technical College System with a degree in Early Childhood Education within the last three years?

  • Employed 30+ hours in a licensed ECE program, Head Start or public/private ECE program?

  • Interested in earning your bachelor’s degree and Wisconsin teacher licensure?

What is ALPECP?

An accelerated, nontraditional, teacher preparation program, ALPECP allows professionals who have completed an associate’s degree within the Wisconsin Technical College System to transition into a Bachelor of Science in Education at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

UW Oshkosh's College of Education and Human Services is uniquely positioned to meet the increased need for quality early childhood educators.

Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) will serve as the partner in this initiative; however, this program is available for any students who have completed an associate’s degree in early childhood at any of the 16 institutions in the Wisconsin Technical College System.

High-quality early care and education programs support children’s school readiness and their continued performance in school. High-quality child care translates to a child’s ability to succeed in school, to develop relationships and to develop social competence. The professional preparation of teachers is a critical component of high-quality care.

ALPECP will function as a cohort model offering courses in multiple delivery formats, including accelerated learning, online, distance education and collaborative, community-based training
