Schierstedt Scholarship Fund

One $500 scholarship is available for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Applications are due Feb. 12, 2014.

Bruce W. and Susan M. Schierstedt established this scholarship in recognition of the importance of education. During their years of service at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO), they both recognized that many students needed financial assistance in order to stay in college and pursue their dreams.  Both retired from UWO in 2011, Bruce from the College of Education and Human Services and Sue from the Wisconsin Family Business Forum within the College of Business.  Sue knows how important scholarships are; her undergraduate education at Northwestern University was made possible through the generosity of scholarship donors.

Bruce spent 23 years at UWO in academic computing and the College of Education and Human Services. He was responsible for installing, maintaining and troubleshooting college networks. He upgraded faculty, staff and student computers, upgraded server software and also maintained all college printers and copiers.

Sue spent over 26 years in the UW System.  During the last 15 years, she was the Executive Director of the Wisconsin Family Business Forum at UWO.  Through the Forum, she worked with families and their businesses to foster their continued health through programs, information, networking, resources, research and life experiences. Sue assisted hundreds of families and their businesses over the years.

This award is intended to assist a student who is in need of financial support.

  2. Applicant must be admitted to and in good standing within the College of Education and Human Services.
