Patricia J. Koll Scholarship Fund

Application 

Established in 2002 by Patricia J. Koll. Dr. Koll joined the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1968. Her 31 years at the University included service as a professor of education, associate dean, coordinator of continuing education and outreach in the College of Education and Human Services and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Graduate School and Research. She served as co-director of a fiver-year teacher education program project and the administrative liaison for the NCA reaccreditation project. She also spearheaded the graduate certificate program in gerontological studies.

Through her work in the classroom and in administrative service, Dr. Koll helped provide a quality education to thousands of UW Oshkosh students. Her commitment and exemplary performance in teaching, research and scholarship have been recognized with the UW Oshkosh Distinguished Teaching Award and the John McN Rosebush Award. Dr. Koll retired from UW Oshkosh in 1999.

Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a current woman graduate student (full- or part-time) in the College of Education and Human Services at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

  • Applicant must have a cumulative grade point of at least 3.5.

  • Applicant must show evidence of leadership.

 

Selection:

  • Applications will be available in the UW Oshkosh College of Education and Human Services, Curriculum and Instruction Department.

  • Selection will be completed by the College of Education and Human Services in consultation with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation.

  • In the event the conditions in the future shall render impractical or impossible to fulfill the purposes for which this scholarship has been established, the President of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation in consultation with the Dean of the College of Education and Human Services, shall award the scholarship to worthy applicants who most closely fit the above established criteria.

 

The Award:

  • Selection shall be completed early enough in spring to include the scholarship in the University‚Äôs Honors and Awards Ceremony.

  • The value and/or number of scholarship awards will be determined annually by the selection committee with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Foundation and will be based upon income available for this purpose.

  • Interest earned will be used to fund the scholarship award. The Foundation Board of Directors will determine the interest allocation based on current and projected market conditions.
