Irene L. Blanchette Sophomore Achievement Award

The purpose of the Irene L. Blanchette Sophomore Achievement Award shall be to provide an annual award to a sophomore student who has made outstanding academic progress during the past two semesters prior to admission.

 

Criteria:

  • Recipients must be full-time sophomore students enrolled at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh majoring in elementary education and have been admitted to Admission I, or equivalent, (PK-3, PK-6, 1-8).

  • No minimum grade point average.

  • Participation in athletics cannot be considered in the selection process, based on NCAA Division III guidelines.

 

Selection:

  • Applications are not required for this scholarship.

  • Nominations for this scholarship will be made by the College of Education and Human Services faculty and staff only.

  • Final selection will be made by a committee named by the Dean of the College of Education and Human Services.

 

The Award:

  • The value and/or number of scholarships will be determined annually by the committee with the UW Oshkosh Foundation and will be based upon income available for this purpose. Interest earned by the principal will be used to fund the scholarship award.

  • A cash award will be presented at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Honors and Awards Ceremony each spring.
