Dr. Charles (Charlie) Goff Education and Political Science Scholarship

One scholarship of $500 is available for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Dr. Charles (Charlie) Goff (1915-1982) born in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. Charlie graduated from UW-Madison with a bachelor’s degree in economics and received a master’s degree in political science from Northwestern University in 1941. He then served in World War II for 3.5 years in the South Pacific. He received his doctor of philosophy degree from Northwestern University in 1952. He went on to teach at UW-Milwaukee for ten years then joined the faculty team at UW Oshkosh in 1961. He taught Political Science at UW Oshkosh for over 31 years. Charlie was a true leader and was very active with the City Council, Faculty Union, and was also a founding member of the Faculty Senate and the Wisconsin Academy of Arts & Science Association.

This scholarship was started by Charlie’s sister Carol Goff-Smith in memory of her wonderful brother. Carol wanted to have her brother remembered for all the years of being an educator within the political science field.
