Happy New Year everyone!
As we are off and running for the New Year, I wanted to take a brief moment and give you an update on some of the wonderful things that the College of Education & Human Services (COEHS) Alumni Association Chapter did in 2008.
On December 10, 2008 they hosted their second annual silent auction where many of us were able to do some holiday shopping and donate to a good cause at the same time. With many local businesses and some of our alumni donating items, such as gift baskets, gift certificates, UW Oshkosh and COEHS attire, cookbooks, wild life prints and much more the group raised $1,325 at the auction. This will allow the COEHS Alumni Association Chapter to give out scholarships to two COEHS students in April.
In 2007 the COEHS Alumni Association Chapter set out to raise $10,000 in order to endow a scholarship so that they could give out at least one scholarship every year. With the assistance of many donors like yourself we are over our goal of $10,000 and are now able to start giving scholarships out annually.
The COEHS Alumni Association Chapter has started collecting used cell phones and recycling them for cash. This cash will fund at least one scholarship per year for a COEHS student. If you wish to donate a used cell phone to the cause, help raise funds for scholarships and help keep the phones out of the landfill please contact our COEHS Alumni Association Chapter president Jim Hoffman at 920-424-1006.
