Brief Bio:
Being a speaker of English as a second language myself and holding a degree in English and French (ultimately a Ph.D. in English language), I have had many opportunities to very effectively relate to my ESL students. I have worked with some ESL/EFL students in K-12 settings in the Czech Republic and volunteered in ESL classrooms in K-12 in Wisconsin.
I have mostly experienced working with adult ESL students, both in a Technical College setting as well as an academic Intensive English Language Program. All these experiences have been very positive ones, allowing me to apply my own learning experiences and sensitivity to diverse cultural and linguistic background. As a result, I have been able to use the gained teaching experience in UW Oshkosh teacher preparation program, where I have been working in both ESL Methods course as well as university supervision program of student teachers in ESL.
