Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP) Certification Courses
The UW Oshkosh College of Business has formed the Wisconsin Financial Services Institute (WFSI) to provide educational services to professionals in the financial services and insurance industries.
WFSI offers CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ classroom-based courses and continuing education programs for professionals at multiple sites in Northeast Wisconsin. Other areas of study will be offered as industry needs require. CFP® courses are developed by both College of Business faculty and industry professionals.
WFSI is led by Director Kristine Beck, Ph.D., member of the College's Finance and Business Law Team. Kristine specializes in the area of investments.

Online and Classroom CFP® Course Information
Financial Plan Presentation Course -- Challenge Candidates
Effective November 18, 2011, challenge candidates that did not previously sit for the CFP® Certification Examination will be required to complete the Financial Plan Presentation course in order to sit for the March 2012 exam, or later. If a challenge candidate registered for the November 2011 CFP® exam as a "challenge candidate," but did not pass the November exam, they are not required to complete the Financial plan presentation course to take the exam in March 2012 or later.
The University of Wisconsin, partnered with Dalton Education, will offer this course consisting of online, self-paced study combined with live online instruction (more information below). Students will learn how to prepare and present a financial plan using financial planning software and multiple approaches to identify and plan for a client's goals and risks. Be enrolling and completing the University of Wisconsin's Financial Plan Presentation course, students will receive a certificate or course completion. This course is available for $700 and begins January 2012. Click here to download the enrollment form and send, along with course fee, to Dalton Education to register for this course.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, and CFP (with flame logo) marks. CFP certification is granted solely by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. to individuals who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP-Board Registered Program, have met ethics, experience and examination requirements.
