Find an Internship
Finding an Internship
Traditional internship postings
A great place to start when looking for internships is positions that are posted and being recruited for. UW Oshkosh uses Titan Jobs. Through this system, organizations post their open internships, and students are able to search based on chosen criteria. You can also "save your search," meaning that when a position is posted that matches your saved criteria, you will get an automatic email in your inbox. There are several other online sources to help find internships as well.
Personal and professional networks
Network with new organizations and people at the College of Business Networking Night or at a Career Fair. Also tap into your established contacts such as organizations that you have previously come into contact with or people that you may know, such as faculty, friends or family.
Come up with a list of "target companies." These are organizations that you have interest in but are unaware of any contacts or internship availability. Research their organization and find a contact person. It is then your responsibility to make the first connection to pursue an internship opportunity.
