Outstanding Graduate Faculty

2012 - Paul Frederickson, Professor of Business Law

Dr. Frederickson earned a B.A. in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration from Michigan State University, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Detroit before coming to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Jason Richter, a fall 2011 MBA graduate, nominated Professor Frederickson. Jason was impressed with Dr. Frederickson before the BUS 793-Business Environments: Law, Regulations and Ethics class even started. Dr. Frederickson sent a questionnaire to all of the students helping him get to know the students ahead of time. Jason also noted that Dr. Frederickson used a variety of tools to help the students grasp the subject and allowed the free debate of differing opinions in the classroom discussion.

"I enjoyed Dr. Frederickson's class because he not only brought his knowledge and experience to it, but also a teaching style that used relevant and recent legal case examples that really helped bring out classroom participation. All individuals were respected and felt open to ask questions or debate. This was a great course highlighting the importance of ethics in business, and really in all out dealings," explained Jason.

Dr. Frederickson recently retired from UW Oshkosh, but remains active in the community. He volunteers at the Winnebago County Free Legal Assistance clinic where he provides legal advice and recruits students to get involved. Additionally, Paul has aspirations to become a professional mediator.
