Troy Sommerfeld, MBA '09 Vice President of Engineering, Marketing & Sales C.R.E.W., Inc.
"The MBA program at UW Oshkosh further elevated my analytical and decision making abilities regarding the dichotomy of comparing and contrasting differing business viewpoints, situations and the resulting impace of business decisions on organization and withing a community. Additionally, this program helped me to develop a stronger sense of internal balance between leading and following, talking and listening, and analysis and reflection.
Networking with the UW Oshkosh faculty, staff and fellow students has provided me invaluable contacts within the Fox Valley community and has helped me both professionally and personally. These personal connections will only strengthen and continue to keep me coupled to this outstanding MBA program."

Beng Yeap, MBA ’96 Asia Specialist Wisconsin Department of Commerce
Making multiple transitions in any career can be difficult. For Beng Yeap, career transition is an accomplishment, for which she is most proud. Yeap has moved from being a teacher in Malaysia, to a college lecturer at the Malayan Teacher’s College, to the business world as a commercial credit analyst for US Bank, to her current position in international business.
“It’s challenging and rewarding at the same time,” Yeap said. “With the job, I meet different people, assist companies in exporting, build working relationships with partner organizations and organize trade missions and seminars.”
Yeap has had the opportunity to travel to Asia twice with the governor and serves as his interpreter, when needed, in the states.
When giving advice about making it in today’s international business world, Yeap says you need solid business skills before venturing out.
“A diverse cultural background is helpful, but strong business skills are what give you an advantage,” she said.
