Application
Students are allowed to apply to the College of Business if they have a current combined (cumulative) GPA of 2.50 or above and pre-core GPA of 2.20 or above; will have completed BUS 204 by the end of the current semester; and will have completed all other business pre-core or plan to enroll in their final one or two pre-core classes next semester (see full admission criteria below). Students who do not meet these requirements must meet with a business adviser in the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center (UARC) after the current semester has ended and grades are posted to determine eligibility. Application for admission allows the student to enroll in upper-level (300/400) business courses and to declare a major.
Students must make an appointment with a business adviser in the Undergraduate Advising Resource Center (UARC), Dempsey 130, and bring their current STAR to check for eligibility and complete an application. The application should be submitted at least 48 hours before their assigned registration date to be able to enroll in upper-level business courses. Application does not constitute completion of admissions requirements.
Application Deadline:
January 1 - Spring semester admission
July 1 - Fall semester admission
When to Apply
You must apply during the semester you complete the pre-core courses or when you plan on registering for your final core courses and upper-level business courses.
Applications are reviewed two weeks after the fourteen week final grades are posted. Students will then be notified by mail of admission decisions.
To apply for admission to the College of Business, see your UARC business adviser at least two weeks before you register.
Review
At the end of the current semester, the applicant’s academic record will be reviewed, admissions decisions administered based on criteria below and notification letters sent after the application deadline. Transfer students must request final transcripts to be received by UW Oshkosh Admissions Office no later then January 1 for spring acceptance or June 1 for fall acceptance.
NOTE: Students not meeting the full or provisional admission requirements may be able to keep up to six credits of upper-level (300/400) business courses. However, students will be removed from all courses for which they are ineligible.
