Working Globally within the U.S.
Join the College of Business for our first Road Scholars Program to California. Spend spring break learning about global business and cultural differences in the U.S. Network with successful alumni.
Courses: BUS 480 (substitutes for BUS 494 for the Global Knowledge Requirement; meets study abroad requirements for emphases/minors)
Dates: March 15 - 24, 2013 (evening departures both days)
Faculty: Aliosha Alexandrov (Marketing)
Estimated Cost: $1900 to $2200, not including most meals and personal expenses
Description: Spend spring break building your resume and networking with alumni in San Francisco and Los Angeles. See the valleys -- Silicon and Napa, that is! Tour Spanish Missions and SF Chinatown. Eat Korean BBQ. See the LA Lakers play.
Tentative company visits include: Yahoo!, Zynga, Solar City, Bemis, and Wells Fargo. We will also visit the Napa Valley International Marketing Group and several wineries that export globally. We'll tour the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank, the Port of Los Angeles, and Universal Studios.
Two free days are allocated for students, one in San Francisco and one in LA.
Pre-departure course work, guest lectures, and company visits in the Fox Valley will be required. For more information, contact Dr. Alexandrov.

March 15 -- Depart for California after classes
March 16 -- Tour of San Francisco, Chinatown
March 17 -- Napa Valley, Mondavi Winery
March 18 -- Silicon Valley, business visits
March 19 -- Travel to Los Angeles with stop (e.g. Missions)
March 20 -- LA business visits, Koreatown
March 21 -- LA business visits
March 22 -- Visit tot he Port of Los Angeles
March 23 -- Hollywood and Universal Studios
March 24 -- Free day, return flight in the evening.
