Welcome to Club Nippon's World Wide Web site. Take a look around and please feel free to send comments and suggestions to the web designer.

Next club meeting will be held on Thursday, March 13th, in Reeve 221 at 6:00 to 7:00. We will be having a trivia content. Bring your thinking caps. Maybe a pencil.

I'll see if I can keep track of what happens in future Club Nippon meetings and put them on the Club Nippon Minutes page, for all that memory-reliving goodness!

I kept these sections because it wouldn't be a Japanese Club site without 'em. To start learning hiragana or katakana, just click on one of the linked words. Also, the Kanji section has been updated.

I'm working on creating a new background for the site. If you're like me, I've only been working on getting this site updated and ready to go for a month, and already I'm tired of the "pink dinosaur claw" backdrop. I'll try and create something neat, cool, shiny, and new.

How to Read Japanese Web Pages

The Gateway to Yahoo's Japanese directory has a good discussion of commercially available software that will allow Macintosh, and IBM and compatible computers to display Japanese text. An alternative is to use the Shodouka mediator web page. You can read instructions for using it at their web site.

Many of the Japanese links on Club Nippon's pages will automatically use Shodouka. These links are usually setup in one of two ways:

If there is an English and Japanese version:

Name of Link Japanese Version Shodouka
for English
unmediated
Japanese
Click this icon
to use Shodouka
If there is only a Japanese version:
