Continuing Education Units

The Caregiver Project workshops qualify for continuing education units (CEUs) through the University of Wisconsin-Extension.  UW-Extension awards one CEU for every 10 contact hours in a continuing education experience.

Although UW-Extension CEUs fulfill continuing education requirements for many licensed professionals, e.g., social workers, individuals should contact their licensing board or association before assuming UW-Extension CEUs will fulfill all requirements.

CEU application forms will be available at the training.  UW-Extension charges a fee to process the forms.

Certificates of Completion will be provided to all workshop participants, whether or not the participant requires CEUs.

NOTE TO CBRF 83.20 INSTRUCTORS ONLY: Completion of the 6-hour Continuing Education for Caregivers: Training for Trainers workshop offers the following credit for approved instructors who have continuing education requirements:

  • 3 hours of adult learning for any approved CBRF instructor

A maximum of 3 additional hours is available to approved CBRF Fire Safety and/or Medication Administration instructors, which may be credited as follows:

  • 3 hours for Medication Administration,
  • 3 hours for Fire Safety,
  • 3 hours split between Medication Administration and Fire Safety continuing education requirements
