Train the Trainer Information
Background
Effective April 1, 2010, DHS 83.20 requires instructor approval in order to teach the four department-approved CBRF training courses. Approval is based on professional credentials, experience and/or educational background.
The CBRF Train the Trainer program has been developed to offer another option for individuals without the required background to seek approval as an instructor, based on successful completion of a department-approved Train the Trainer course.

Train the Trainer Program Applicants
Select a topic below to view program requirements and complete an application. Please read the instructions on pages 1-2 of the application carefully. Applications should be filled out electronically and then printed for mailing. Applicants will be notified of approval or denial via e-mail within fifteen (15) business days of UW Oshkosh receiving a complete application.
NOTE: You may submit portions of your Train the Trainer Application(s) via e-mail. Please see the "Submissions Instructions" on page 3 of all Train the Trainer Applications:
A non-refundable application processing fee must be submitted with each application. See the specific application for fees. A separate application is required for each topic.
Applications are valid for three (3) years and must be renewed prior to expiration. Renewal information is detailed in a separate section on this page.

- Approved Train the Trainer programs are required to renew their program every three (3) years.
- Each instructor, listed under the program, must receive a minimum of nine (9) hours of documented continuing education during the three-year approval period.
- Continuing education may be related to any of the topical areas of the Train the Trainer program. The program’s primary contact will be notified prior to the renewal date.
- The primary contact will need to provide program and instructor information included with the renewal fees.
- One application must be submitted for each currently approved instructor in program.
- If you would like to add a new instructor, use the Train the Trainer Applications above.
The renewal review will include, at a minimum:
- Evaluations of the program submitted by students
- Class rosters to ensure the program is active
- Complaints submitted to UW Oshkosh about the program
- Instructor qualifications related to continuing education
NOTE: Program approval for Train the Trainer programs may be suspended or revoked for failure to follow requirements.
