The CBRF Training and Registry Services is providing a series of Enhancing the Adult Learning Experience workshops free of charge. This workshop has been expanded to a four-hour training and qualifies as continuing education hours for currently approved CBRF instructors and may be used toward meeting instructor renewal requirements. The curriculum is identical to the series of trainings offered Fall, 2011, with additional time for discussions. Three (3) hours of this training qualifies as continuing education in adult learning and training strategies and one (1) hour will count as continuing education towards one topic (Medication Administration, Fire Safety or Standard Precautions), to be determined during the training. This training is available in 5 locations around the state (see below). Priority will be given to instructors who have not previously attended this workshop. This four-hour interactive training examines the unique needs of adult learners. Participants will become familiar with the characteristics of adult learners, will explore the components of an effective training, and will consider the impact of an instructor’s style. Our goal is to provide CBRF instructors with tools to improve the quality of employee trainings and to increase the knowledge retention of the participants. Please share the information from this workshop with your fellow instructors.
