Chemistry is the study
of the substances and materials that make up
everything in the world we live in; including our
own bodies. You could say it's the study of
stuff, its properties, how to make more of it, and
what happens if we mix it with something else.
Chemistry has a great impact on our lives.
Almost everything we eat, wear, use or live in has
been made, or at least modified, by chemical
processes designed by man. Of course, we
have to be careful with those processes. They
could cause negative effects on our lives. Because
chemistry provides us with powerful tools with
which to understand and manipulate the physical
world around us, the demand for trained chemist
is, and always will be, extensive.
Everything from progress in medicine and industry
to environmental protection and solving energy
problems will require chemistry skill, and
companies and governments pay well for solutions
and answers. Chemists can count on exciting
jobs after graduation.
