John Dobyn's, adjunct teacher at Freedom High School, Winner of the Herb Kohl Foundation Fellowship Award

Three teachers with local connections have won the 2010 Herb Kohl Foundation Fellowship awards.

Three teachers with local connections have won the 2010 Herb Kohl Foundation Fellowship awards. Chrissy Makurat of Omro Elementary School, Kathryn Riederer, of Webster Stanley Elementary School and John Dobyns of Oshkosh, a teacher at Freedom High School, were winners of the fellowships. According to Herb Kohl Foundation Web site, educators are selected for the fellowship for "their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students and ability to motivate others, and for their leadership and service within and outside the classroom." Each teacher chosen receives a $1,000 award and each fellow's school also receives a $1,000 grant. The honored is bestowed on 100 Wisconsin teachers each year.
