In 1998, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the University of New Brunswick instituted a student exchange program agreement. In May 1999, the College of Letters and Science instituted a minor in Canada-US Studies; the goal of the College of Letters and Science is to broaden international content in the curriculum. The Canada-US Studies initiative and the student exchange program are two objectives that contribute to achievement of this long-range goal; the minor and exchange program provide a dynamic learning process for the students and help them develop their intellectual and cultural sensitivities. The UW System Institute for Global Studies has funded three curriculum development grants during 2000-2003.
