Gannett Wisconsin Media - A new front door doesn't usually take 14 months to finish, but the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh’s new front door is about 39,000 square feet and two stories tall. The university’s multipurpose Alumni Welcome and Conference Center should be completed sometime in December and will host its first event in early April.
The AeroInnovate program started in 2009, when the first forums to help aviation entrepreneurs were hosted at AirVenture. This year for the first time, the innovations pavilion is in a large tent centrally located on the grounds with lots of foot traffic. "This is a phenomenal opportunity for entrepreneurs to showcase their ideas," said AeroInnovate program director Meridith Jaeger. "Essentially what we do is provide resources to companies and entrepreneurs, like how to write a business plan and how to pitch to investors."
AeroInnovate highlights new technologies, entrepreneurs, emerging companies and investment trends in the global world of aviation. It has also played a tremendous role in magnetizing Oshkosh to aviation start-ups and existing companies and continues to work with statewide interests to improve the Badger State’s aviation-industry appeal.
The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Business Success Center’s board added two new members at a recent board meeting May 28. The two new members are: Steven R. Schmudlach and Shannon L. Full.
