Carbon Footprint Calculator

UW Oshkosh continues its effort to becoming a greener, sustainable institution, and now it is your turn. There are many actions each of us, both as individuals and as communities, can do to reduce our carbon footprints.

What’s a carbon footprint you ask?

A carbon footprint is the measure of your impact on climate. For instance, one ton of carbon dioxide is released when you travel 5,000 miles in an airplane or drive 2,500 miles in a medium-sized car. Not only does a carbon footprint incorporate carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas, but it also includes methane and nitrous oxide.

By using a carbon footprint calculator, you are able to assess and reduce your impact on climate. To get started, visit The Nature Conservancy, a leading conservation organization working around the world to protect important lands and waters.
