Warriors & Students features the work of 10 journalism students who’ve produced an 100-page book, 100 online journal entries and 30 audio podcasts that focus on the stories of these student veterans, who have seen a world that most of us will never see.
The hour-long event will include short opening remarks and a multimedia presentation. The Warriors & Students photo exhibit - which includes war-time photos and personal photos of the veterans - will be on display. Photos from the first and second War: Through Their Eyes projects will also be included in the exhibit.
Join us for an unforgettable evening that highlights the work of our students and warriors.
Previous War Editions
War Vol 1
While the Iraq War is being fought halfway around the world, we find relevancy right here on campus. UW Oshkosh has students and alumni who have already seen the war firsthand in the Middle East or are awaiting the order to serve abroad. This multimedia project -- which includes a book, a series of podcasts and a photo exhibit -- gives these student soldiers and Marines a forum to tell the world why they enlisted, what they did and what they felt at the front lines of war.
War Vol 2
Through Their Eyes, Warriors & Nurses, is a student/faculty multimedia project – which includes a book, a series of podcasts and a photo exhibit – that focuses on the veterans in the College of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Warriors & Nurses are the stories of the students and alumni who have seen war in the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts in the Middle East, and yet have found their way into a field of healing.
