Say ‘Hello' to the Iota Rho Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi
On February 27, 1999, the Petitioning Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh officially became the Iota Rho Chapter. This achievement was accomplished through the hard work and determination of UW Oshkosh students and accounting faculty, plus a huge amount of support from the College of Business Administration, the University, and many accounting professionals from the Fox Valley.
Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919 and is a national scholastic and professional accounting organization. The primary objective of the organization is to recognize and encourage scholastic and professional excellence in the field of accounting. To be inducted into the organization, initiates must have achieved such excellence and portrayed good moral character.
All students and alumni eligible for initiation into the Iota Rho Chapter were invited to attend the February 27th Ceremony, which was held at the Algoma Club in Oshkosh. Officials from the National Chapter were in attendance to perform the installation and initiation ceremonies. The team consisted of Mr. Samuel Vitkoski, President of the National Council Board of Directors; Professor Willard Galliart, Past President of the National Council Board of Directors; and Ms. Mary Horras, National Advisory Forum. The official chapter charter was presented to Dean E. Alan Hartman of the UW Oshkosh College of Business Administration. The charter is displayed at the College. A total of fifty-one students, alumni, faculty, and honorary members were initiated as charter members.
Congratulations to everyone initiated that evening. Any alumni who were previously initiated into the Petitioning Chapter starting in the Fall of 1995 are eligible to become members of the Iota Rho chapter. You must, however, attend an initiation within two years of the February 27th charter date. Initiations are held every semester. For more information, please contact the current officers
