Bio

Dr. Hoefferle completed her BS degree in Interior Design at Central Michigan University, her Masters in Education at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and her PHD in Curriculum and Instruction (emphasis in art education, minor in folklore) from the University of Wisconsin Madison. Her current research interests involve community-based art, material culture studies, and the scholarship of teaching and learning, with specific concentration on the transitions art majors make from art education methods courses, to student teaching, and into their first year of professional practice. She has published work in the International Journal of Education through Art, and Upper Country: Journal of the Lake Superior Region and has given paper presentations at numerous regional and national conferences.
