This digital history, part of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, Archives and Area Research Center Website is the digital version of a booklet created by UW Oshkosh physical education majors enrolled in the spring 1999, history and philosophy of physical education course. The text was edited by Dr. Colleen Evans-Fletcher, Ph.D., instructor of the course. The Web pages was designed and created by Joshua Ranger, university archivist. The project was completed July 6, 2000.

The text was used as it appears in the paper booklet, with only photo captions added. The best efforts were made to position photographs in the locations chosen by the authors. The UW Oshkosh Archives and Area Research Center is not responsible for historical inaccuracies contained herein as this is a product of student research and writing.

The booklet and Website are dedicated to all those who shared their memories of days gone by, to those who spent hours helping the college students in their quest for knowledge and to the men and women who have played and coached college sports at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and all of its predecessor institutions.
